The team

Christian August Holm Hansen is a security specialist and co-founder of Binary Security. He holds an M.Sc. in Communication Technology from NTNU, with an exchange programme at EURECOM, with a specialization in information security. He has many years of experience as a security consultant, having performed hundreds of technical security assessments with a mix of mobile applications, web applications, IoT devices and networks. Christian is an Offensive Security Certified Professional and excels at finding bugs and breaking into networks. When time allows, he enjoys finding bugs in much used software and has been acknowledged by Microsoft and Google for finding vulnerabilities in Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform. He has previously been among the top five yearly "bughunters" in the Google VRP. In 2019 he co-founded Binary Security after leaving the penetration testing team of a major scandinavian financial institution.

Christian Håland is a security specialist and the other co-founder of Binary Security. He holds an M.Sc. in Computer Science from NTNU with a specialization in security. He spent a year at UC Santa Barbara taking courses in Information Security taught by Giovanni Vigna and Richard Kemmerer at the UCSB Seclab. He has many years of experience as a security consultant and in-house application security engineer at Unity Technologies. Christian is an Offensive Security Certified Professional and enjoys finding cool bugs, building security tools and researching topics within application security.

Torjus Bryne Retterstøl is a security specialist and partner of Binary Security. He joined Binary Security in 2021, and has previously worked with technical information security since 2015. He has experience from companies in both the public and the private sector, doing penetration testing, research and development and security consulting. He holds an M.Sc. in Communication Technology from NTNU, with an exchange programme at EURECOM, with a specialization in information security. Torjus has the certifications Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP), Offensive Security Certified Web Expert (OSWE) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).

Haakon Holm Gulbrandsrud is a security specialist and employee of Binary Security. He joined Binary Security in 2022 after 5 years of experience with information security at the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment. From this he has done extensive research in security testing and analysis. With an M.Sc. in Mathematics from NTNU he has learned to understand systems and complex logical architectures in a deep way quickly. Haakon enjoys the occasional deep-dive into x86 Assembly and is proficient with IDA Pro. He is Binary Security's alias when it comes to reversing and Binary Exploitation.

Sofia Lindqvist is a security specialist and employee of Binary Security. She joined Binary Security in 2023, and has previous experience as a developer on a widely deployed Internetwork Operating System and doing penetration testing. She holds a M.Sc. in Mathematics from NTNU as well as a PhD in Mathematics from Oxford University. Sofia has the certification Practical Network Penetration Tester (PNPT).
